Jab bhi ho gham, zyada ya kam,
Muskuraayenge hum, gaayenge hum,
Ta Ra Rum Pum….. Ta Ra Rum Pum….. Ta Ra Rum Pum…..

Tara Rum Pum is a ‘feel good’ story of one man, his family and how they overcome the obstacles of life, together.  It is the story of human spirit in the face of adversity and how united, they are able to conquer it all.

Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukherjee, the hit pair from Hum Tum are back in this year’s blockbuster film from the Yash Raj camp.  Directed by Siddharth Anand, the man behind the successful, yet slightly scandalous Salaam Namaste, has decided to take a slightly different look on life by focusing on a family.

The film starts on a high note at the racing track of a highly publicised race.  The exhilarating feel of a car race about to begin, combined with the high levels of energy are catalysts for a high octane thriller.

The film lives up to the reputation of a Yash Raj signature, yet manages to feel like a blend of
Will Smith’s ‘A Pursuit of Happiness’, with a Bollywood twist.

The success of this film is largely owed to the incredible performance by Saif Ali Khan.  His ability to bring his boyish charm and his carefree manner to the core of the character will have you feeling joy, pain, and the struggle of the film’s central character, RV.  No other actor could have performed this role as well as Saif Ali Khan.

Rani Mukherjee is looking as gorgeous as ever.  She is back with svelte figure and her maturity over the years as an actress has helped her to define and seal the role of a modern day mother.  She looks beautiful and has great chemistry with Saif Ali Khan.

Tara Rum Pum is overall a lovely watch and has something to teach us all.

When it comes to the music, the films from the Yash Raj camp always seem to have a particular feel about them.

Take for example the past successes of Dhoom 2, Fanaa, or even Salaam Namaste.  All hit films and all with a particular feel to their music.

The name Dhoom 2 says it all.  Action packed, racy, fun and sizzling – the music (Crazy kiya re) definitely had the audience still going crazy.

Fanaa – a mature love story with the re-launch of the gorgeous Kajol has beautiful soft romantic ballads, with a sprinkling of pop to jazz it up a little.

Salaam Namaste with it’s slightly controversial theme had a very pop, energetic feel that had many of us tapping our toes and singing along with the likes of Saif and Preity.

With Tara Rum Pum, the expectations are already set.  Music by Vishal Shekhar and lyrics by Javed Akhtar – Tara Rum Pum has a high level of expectation to meet.

A family film, with a mix of drama – music romantic ballads (when Mom and Dad meet), a pinch of Punjabi music masala - bhangra (no Yash Raj film is without this), and of course something a little poppy to get the kids in to groove.

The soundtrack from the film will have some level of success on the pop charts.  The romantic ballad, "Hey Shona" will be remembered and sung by romantic lovers everywhere.  "Ab to forever" will definitely be making its presence on the dance floor!  And the soulful singing of Saaiyaan will keep Vosja Dadlani in the hearts of people everywhere.

Tara Rum Pum - Be Happy, Don't Worry!
