Manukau Telstra Clear Stadium looked amazing on Friday night (29 September). The atmosphere was high with anticipation as throngs of people sat impatiently waiting for the one and only Sukhwinder Singh.
The evening began with funny man, Mahesh lightening the mood with jokes and stories. This was Mahesh’s second trip to New Zealand. He visited a few years back when Apna990 brought Mahesh to accompany Shaan on his first performance in New Zealand.
Other performances of the night included Sunny V who is a singer and performer by profession. He has on the verge of releasing his second album. The crowd was entertained by special Bollywood dancers flown in from India. Their performance, energy and co-ordination were befitting the songs they danced to.
The audience went ecstatic when Sukhwinder Singh finally came on stage. His powerful voice, stage presence and performance made each song more memorable than the last. Sukhwinder took the opportunity to get to know his New Zealand fans a little better by singing and walking amongst the audience members.
Security at the arena was very tight. Audience members were stopped from dancing by the stage during the performances. Sukhwinder did not leave any audience member disappointed; he gave many audience members the chance to join him on stage to dance while he sang.
