Adrian Bohm presents Russell Peters

“Outsourced comedy”

The one and only Russell Peters created a frenzy of excitement at the Auckland Town Hall, his second stop in New Zealand after Wellington.  Already a world renowned comedy king, Russell needed no introduction.

A mixed crowd of young and old battled the rainy Auckland weather to bask in the comedy hour of Russell Peters.  No fan left disappointed.  Russell Peters’ charismatic personality, peculiar looks and impromptu dialogues created for a great show.

IndianEvents was at the show with three winners of the Russell Peters’ competition.

Russell Peters has been nominated for four Gemini awards and has appeared in numerous television shows.  His innate ability to observe the humorous side of life and to imitate many different accents, bringing his comedic characters to life has made him a superstar around the world.  Much of his comedy speaks with and makes fun of the immigrant community.  “I don’t put people down.  I want to elevate them, but in a funny way,” Russell points out.

At the Auckland show Russell interacted extremely well with the laid back New Zealand audience.  He did create a little confusion for himself when he couldn’t tell the difference between a Samoan and a Maori.  Russell’s comedic timing and cheeky antics left the audience members reeling with laughter, as he managed to slowly extract himself from a slightly embarrassing, but humorous situation.

Overall the Russell Peters show was a phenomenal success.

But no show is complete without an opening act.  For the Russell Peters show someone larger than life was needed to set the mood of the night.  Take to the stage, Angelo Tsarouchas.  The, ‘Hitman of Hilarity’ as he is commonly known began the comedy hour with a dose of his own Greek humour.

Audiences loved the “Big Guy” as he pounced around the stage reinacting scenes and conversations from his very illustrious Greek family.  Angelo is not only a comedic genius but also a well known actor.  Angelo has starred in many feature films, alongside prime Hollywood actors.
