Musicians and Dancers from literally all around the world gathered today for a huge all-day celebration of human unity in multi-cultural diversity as the Art of Living – the world’s largest volunteer based network – celebrated their 25th Anniversary. |
New Zealand runner-up Indira Moala, named after Indian Prime Minister, with roots in the Pacific and brought up in New Zealand, epitomized the spirit of one world family as topped a day of celebration that roused the crowd. |

From Bollywood Grooves to Pakistani puppetry, from Bamboo to Belly dancing; Bengali, Punjabi, Chinese, Irish, French, Spanish, Middle Eastern, Maori, African and South American performers to name but a few all came together in a kind of Wonder World to the delight of a buoyant crowd. |

A full Maori Powhiri was performed as deputy Mayor Bruce Hucker officially opened the ceremony, then a Kapa Haka was given as visiting dignitaries including politicians RT Hon Chris Carter, Minister for Ethnic Affairs, Ashraf Choudhary, Member of Parliament and Ann Hartley, deputy speaker came for the evening festivities and participated in a Group Meditation for World Peace. |

During his speech, Ethic Affairs Minister Chris Carter complimented the Art of Living for the very practical work the foundation has done in Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan to bring not only humanitarian relief but also to help restore peace of mind to its citizens using its personal development courses that relieve stress based on a breathing technique known as the Sudarshan Kriya®. |

He commented that he thought parliament would benefit immeasurably through all of its politicians doing the Art of Living stress elimination courses to the applause of the audience who reflected Auckland’s great cultural diversity. |

| President of Art of Living New Zealand chapter, Glen D’souza commented “The Art of Living is the 2nd largest NGO in the world behind the Red Cross. Today we have had some 7,000 people come to see this event, and we have announced to New Zealand that we are here, and that we are here to continue to bring people together in the name of that which we all share in common – our human values, our love of celebration, and the inescapable fact that we are all part of one world family”. |
