It was a cold, blistery Friday evening. Throngs of people crowded a little restaurant in Henderson awaiting the arrival of a half-Indian, half-Italian actor who, since beginning his acting career has taken the world of Bollywood by storm.
Casually dressed in worn jeans and a zip up sweater Dino sauntered into the restaurant. He looked every bit the star that he is. Accompanying him during this leg of the journey were none other than Abhijeet Sawant, winner of India Idol and funny man Jimmy Moses. Priyanka Chopra, a former Miss World and now a Bollywood darling was also scheduled to attend the evening's dinner but due to flight delays was unable to make the event.
The evening with the stars was off to a great star. A large number of media gathered at the restaurant to meet with the stars. Questions were flung from one side of the room to the next. Flashes of light dazzled the stars as keen photographers tried to capture the essence of the night.
Mr Shah, the owner of Apna990 and a key player in bringing these stars to New Zealand for their first Bollywood show was satisfied with the result.
